Our Expectations of our School Partners

The Nora Project is committed to providing high-quality programs, training, and ongoing support to its partners. To ensure the fidelity of our programs and an excellent experience for participating students, The Nora Project expects the following commitments from school partners:

Identify an individual for each program to serve in a leadership position

The Nora Project maintains regular communication with a representative from each program a school chooses to implement. It is the responsibility of the school to identify one individual to serve as the point person who will maintain a connection with program staff at The Nora Project. Each program has different requirements of this leader as described in the table here

Send one or more individuals from each program to our summer Training Camp

Whomever has been identified as a leader for each program being implemented must attend The Nora Project’s summer training camp. If this individual is not available to attend Training Camp, the school must identify another individual to serve in the leadership role, or they must work with The Nora Project staff to organize an alternative training option.

Opportunities for alternative training options are at the discretion of The Nora Project Program staff.

Non-attendance at Training Camp or another mutually-agreed upon training option will disqualify a school from implementing a particular program.

Complete data collection as described in the program materials

The Nora Project relies on classroom data collection to track the effectiveness and impact of its programs, as well as to continuously improve our programs through feedback from students, parents, and teachers. We expect our participants to adhere to our data collection protocols.

Keep lines of communication open with Program Staff

The Nora Project Program Staff are available throughout the duration of a school’s participation to ensure that students and staff have a high-quality experience. We ask that schools reach out to The Nora Project whenever questions or issues arise so that we may assist in problem solving.

We rely on our participants to share their success stories! We ask that participants share good news in the form of anecdotes and media so that we can see and share the impact of our programs with our community.

Teach program materials with fidelity, in line with the mission and vision of The Nora Project

The Nora Project is committed to providing high-quality materials that are in line with our mission and vision for a more inclusive future for people of all abilities. We expect teachers to adapt the curriculum to meet the needs of their students and to best fit their educational environments, but we ask that this be done while maintaining the integrity of the materials.

Teachers should endeavor to use The Nora Project materials and resources to promote inclusion, empathy, and acceptance of all children for all of who they are. They should empower and encourage students to learn about one another and demonstrate kindness all the time, not just during The Nora Project lessons. We encourage teachers to integrate the themes of The Nora Project into all content areas and during all parts of the school day.

Have all staff participants complete the Onboarding Survey

This will provide contact information to TNP staff while also orienting each participating staff member to the work of the project, providing basic information about their program, and asking for their formal commitment to implementation of the program.
