WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

Maintaining a culturally diverse and inclusive environment is an ongoing task. It doesn't just end with the introduction of these subjects. Students need consistent exposure and opportunities to practice these skills in order to maintain them. That's why TNP is a great asset to our SEL time.

- Emily, Teacher

It’s teaching us to expand our mind and open up more to find new people, for us we used to sit with the same people in the same spot everyday but now we try and see if anyone needs someone to sit with or someone to be our friend, so instead of them sitting alone they have someone to sit with or talk with.

- Jacqueline, Student

Just THANK YOU. I continue to be impressed with TNP & The Primer Pack - how rich the content is, how well-thought-out, user friendly and adaptable it is for a variety of teaching and learning styles, and your support and responsiveness to feedback. I’m looking forward to continuing to dig in and teach includers!

We share our stories to help. Sometimes you don’t know what someone is going through, and by them sharing their story you can understand them better. We share our stories because we care, and we listen. It can be hard to be disabled. Sometimes people might make fun of you, or leave you out of something. But you share your story to tell them ‘I am human. I am like you. Let’s be friends.’

With  everything  going  on  this  year, I  learned  how to incorporate  all students'  needs,  biases,  and backgrounds  to  best  support  their SEL. My classroom was very diverse, their  family  needs  varied,  and  their feelings  about  the  pandemic spanned  a wide spectrum. Through using  The  Nora Project,  I  was  able  to ground  and unite my students in acceptance  and  seeing  others differently.

- Katie, Teacher

I believe that the students are learning to listen to other's stories of who they are, what they think; and in doing so, students are feeling empowered to be more transparent because they trust they will be accepted for who they are.

- Jennifer, Teacher

I am becoming more aware about how accessibility and inclusivity benefit all students, not just those with disabilities.

- Kimberly, Counselor

I learned that teaching empathy is much more impactful through experiential practices. I have taught SEL curriculum for years and never have I seen the learning demonstrated through The Nora Project program.
