What the students behind Friendship February want YOU to know
The students behind this year’s Friendship February campaign are extraordinary. They are sixth and seventh graders at Nathan Hale School in Chicago and they believe in the power of kindness and community. These students are part of the school’s STEMpathy Club, meeting each week to work toward removing barriers to inclusion in their building and surrounding community.
The members of Hale’s STEMpathy Club created this year’s list of friendship challenges, contributed artwork which we incorporated in our annual Valentine’s day postcards (which will bring smiles to hundreds of TNP supporters this month), and made this video, to tell YOU why Friendship February is for everyone.
We asked the students to share their top reasons for getting involved in Friendship February. Here’s what they had to say:
Friendship February allows students to make others feel happy, and that feels awesome for everyone involved.
Friendship February strengthens friendships and bonds.
Friendship February raises funds for activities that involve teamwork and everyone working together.
Friendship February is important because it includes everyone.
Friendship February raises funds for afterschool programs for all students to do fun projects as a group.
Friendship February is important because everyone deserves to feel like they are important in their community.
