Reintroducing The Nora Project

Four students sit at a cluster of desks as they complete a worksheet.

Who We Are

TNP is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to providing educators with the training, language, and resources to create inclusive classroom communities that are welcoming and supportive of all students.

We do this by providing comprehensive teacher training and coaching in disability studies and program implementation along with year-long and shorter programs that help students develop friendship and empathy skills, an understanding of disability as a natural and expected part of human diversity, and help them adopt an Ability Inclusive Mindset.

Our Mission

We’re on a mission to promote disability inclusion by empowering educators and engaging students and communities. We envision a new standard in education where ability diversity is expected and valued in every classroom.

Two young students smile at each other while doing a craft. To the right is a girl with dark hair in a bun and wears a pink striped shirt that reads ‘Do what makes you happy.’ To the right is a blonde boy with glasses that wears a red and gray baseball tee.

Programs

TNP offers a suite of year-long and flexible, shorter programs for students in preschool through high school. Our programs are designed for students with and without disabilities to learn side by side in inclusive settings.

Lifecycle Suite: Our Primer Pack, Storyteller Project, and STEMpathy Club programs immerse students in year-long, weekly learning experiences that will shift mindsets and promote a more inclusive classroom culture.

Jumpstart Units: Jump Start units provide a way to introduce key concepts in a shorter time frame. Each unit includes 8-10 lessons and can supplement your existing SEL or Disability Studies instruction.

Additional Services: We also have custom programs for parents, educators, and school communities. If you’re interested in custom training or support, please contact us at Info@TheNoraProject.Ngo

Nineteen students lay on the ground of a classroom with their heads in a circle. In the center of the circle are colorful pages with one word written on each. Together they read ‘The Nora Project is an awesome part of 4th grade where you learn how to tell your story while listening to others.’

Additional Resources

We have free resources on our website for both parents and educators to encourage social/emotional learning in and outside of the classroom.
