This unit will explicitly teach students about disability as a form of human diversity. Students will view the concept of being an includer through the lens of friendship, and throughout this unit will be given the opportunity to celebrate the diversity that each student brings to the classroom. Students will be taught the ability inclusive beliefs and actions that are the tenets of developing an Ability Inclusive Mindset (AIM) in future units of study.
