This unit aims to help students answer three essential questions: 

1. What does it mean to be a good friend? 

2. Why is there no such thing as “normal”? 

3. Why do we share our stories with others? 

Students will explore their own identity, learn about ableism and the history of disability rights, and collaboratively create activities that are inclusive of themselves and others. Through this engaging unit, students will develop stronger relationships with each other and learn how much value there is in celebrating the diversity within their classroom community.
